As a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Guatemalan highlands Jay first became aware of the beauty of the natural landscape. He began to capture on film the volcanoes, mountains, Mayan culture and visual extravaganza that surrounded him. The power of photography took hold and has never let go.

For the past 40 years Jay has used a 4x5 view camera , a 6x7 medium format camera and various digital cameras to capture on film and sensors the magic of light and landscape. As a Veterinarian living in the foothills of the Sierras of California he has been fortunate to have a beautiful landscape to explore.
